Thomas R. Krogstad
Brief biography
I was born in Ålesund, Norway, on the 25th of July 1980. And was raised there until I left for the army when I was 19, after graduating upper secondary school with a specialization in physics, chemistry and mathematics.
After finshing my basic training in the army, I started my studies in Engineering Cybernetics and graduated Master of Science/Sivilingeniør at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in June 2005, within the field of Guidance, Navigation, Control and Robotics, with the thesis: "Attitude control of satellites in clusters".
PhD project
Currently employed at the Strategic University Program of Computational Methods in Nonlinear Motion Control (CM-iN-MC), a PhD scholarship funded by the Research Council of Norway.
The preliminary title of the work, supervised by Jan Tommy Gravdahl, is "Synchronization of formation-flying spacecraft".
Other work
Part of the design team for the departments new autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV), designing the hull, electronics and control system.
